Canada’s D-Day Story
November 9 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join the Huron County Museum for this virtual presentation by Alex Fitzgerald-Black of the Juno Beach Centre Association. This event is by donation.
Canada’s D-Day Story will begin with a talk about Canada’s role on Juno Beach and in the Battle of Normandy. The speaker will briefly share the story of a relatively unknown Canadian D-Day hero. From here we will track the story behind the Centre’s creation and how the museum operates as Canada’s primary Second World War site of memory.
About the speaker: Alex Fitzgerald-Black is the Operations and Outreach Manager at the Juno Beach Centre Association, the charity that owns and operates Canada’s Second World War Museum on the D-Day landing beaches in Normandy, France. He holds a Master of Arts in military history (University of New Brunswick) and a Master of Arts in public history (Western University).
