Forgotten Virtual Series: Photo Genealogy
January 20 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Learn how to use photo genealogy to help identify family photos in this free webinar with guest speaker Art Taylor.
Placing people at a certain place and time, and understanding the stories within a visual image and how they relate to your family, is the objective of a photo genealogist. See how a knowledge of geography, fashion, world history, social history, photography history and family genealogy can help identify your family photos.
The Huron County Museum is pleased to welcome Taylor as part of a virtual speaker series related to our temporary exhibit Forgotten: People and Portraits of the County. Taylor graduated as an Audio Visual Technician and has been digitizing his own collections of slides, negatives and prints since the 1990s. He is also an active amateur photographer and has shared his methods and expertise on digitization, preservation, metadata and dating photos and photo postcards with other family researchers, including at the Ontario Ancestors/Ontario Genealogical Society Annual Conference.
Registered participants will receive a link to join this webinar via their verified email address.
