Open Studio Program – Painting Outside the Lines with Michele Miller

Are you interested in the visual arts, but not sure how to hone your skills and improve your technique? Open Studio will be a opportunity for artists to receive one-on-one feedback, direction, inspiration  and answers for their art related questions. Develop your repertoire to better realize your vision!

Artists are encouraged to bring any artwork which they wish to receive feedback or help with. They are welcome to bring multiple paintings. The Open Studio in the museum will be a place to create and learn. Artists will work on their current projects and listen and learn from demos and the feedback that others in the group are receiving, benefitting from both one-on-one guidance and collaborative inspiration.

All ages welcome.

All mediums welcome (including, but not limited to: watercolour, oil, acrylic, sketching, pastel etc).

Open Art Sessions will be monthly at the Huron County Museum. Some topics that will be highlighted for individual sessions include but will not be limited to: seeing; value; colour mixing; composition; edges; how to create more painterly/loose paintings; warm and cool colours etc.

$10 cost per session (to be paid to instructor directly)

Artist Bio: Michele Miller is an accomplished oil and watercolour artist who has been showing her paintings across southern Ontario for over 17 years.  Light and mood are pivotal elements in her art. Looking to her surroundings for inspiration, she is frequently responding to the most ordinary of subject matter. Her body of work consists of a diverse range of subjects including portraits, buildings and interiors, landscapes, still life as well as animals.  Michele’s art work has won several awards. Additional accomplishments include a solo exhibit at the Blyth Bainton Gallery and being a past feature artist for the Alice Munro Festival. In 2020 she had a showing of her portraits with her Art In the Library community portrait program group at the Goderich Co-op Gallery. Michele’s Art In the Library Program continues to meet monthly at the Goderich Library and provides an opportunity for artists gather to share skills, demos and creativity.  She earned her Fine Art’s degree from the University of Guelph
