Historic Places Days – Doodle Mugshots

July 10 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

Celebrate Historic Places Days by getting a mugshot doodle at the Huron Historic Gaol! Available during regular hours on Friday, July 10 and 17.

Hosted each year by the National Trust for Canada, Historic Places Days invites individuals and organizations to share the places and stories that matter to them.

To celebrate this year, we are inviting visitors to the Gaol to get a doodle mugshot. Drawn by a talented staff member, doodles will include a sketch of the visitor holding a mugshot card showing their historic crime. It’s a nice keepsake from your visit that can also be shared online for the annual Historic Places Days Selfie Contest. Of course you can share any selfie from your visit to either the Museum and Gaol to participate.

Capture a historic place that matters to you and share the story it tells for a chance to win one of 25 prizes, including:

  • A grand prize of $1,000 for you and $1,000 for the Huron County Museum
  • Three bonus prizes of $500
  • Twenty-one passes, subscriptions, memberships

How to Enter:

  • Post your photo on Instagram or Facebook using #HPDPhotoContest and #HistoricPlacesDays
  • Tag and follow @nationaltrustca
  • Tag @huroncountymuseum
  • If you heard about the contest through an influencer/creator, tag them too
  • In your caption, share the story your photo tells
