75th Anniversary Celebrations – Huron County Museum

The Huron County Museum is turning 75 and you’re invited to the celebration!

In the spirit of founder Joseph Herbert Neill, all are welcome to join us for an anniversary party packed with creative fun and interactive activities for all ages.

Join us for any or all of these creative activities:

  • SOLD OUT – 1-4 p.m.: Artist Bethany Davidson – Glass & Textiles workshop. Use simple embroidery techniques to secure pieces of stained glass into a mosaic/design of your choosing. Please reserve your free spot below. Participants can join the day of if space permits.
  • 2 p.m.: Formal remarks and cupcakes (while supplies last)!
  • 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.: Trash Theatre – Mask making workshop. Transform into your favourite endangered species by making a 3-D mask by using items from the recycling bin. Once you learn this technique you can make a mask from basic items almost anywhere. Plaster Gauze and other styles of mask making also available. Drop-in activity.
  • 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Train Display – Danny & Nancy Smith. Train display includes Thomas the Tank Engine and Percy.
  • 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Digital Scavenger Hunt – Explore the Museum and learn about local history through this unique digital experience!
  • 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Museum Assistant and Local Artist Ellyson – Doodle Booth. – Step up to our doodle booth to receive your own hand drawn portrait!
  • 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: FREE admission to the Huron County Museum and Historic Gaol!
  • 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Crafts and lawn games
