Behind the Bars – July 28

The Huron Historic Gaol is excited to announce the return of our annual Behind the Bars program! Step into the past and interact with actors portraying real staff and inmates who spent time in the gaol between 1841 and 1922. Explore the gaol and meet a rogues’ gallery of vagrants, thieves, and ‘lunatics’ who once found themselves behind bars.
When: Behind the Bars runs from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 2 until August 27. Check out the museum events calendar to pre-purchase tickets for your preferred evening!
Admission: We recommend purchasing tickets online to guarantee entry, though some tickets will be available for purchase at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m, with last entry at 8 p.m. Please note that the upper floors of the gaol require stairs to access, and the building does not have an elevator.
Tickets (Including Tax):
- Adults (18+): $10
- Children (6-17): $5
- Preschoolers (5 & Under): Free
- Museum Members: Free
*This is a special event outside of regular hours or daytime admission rates. Admission with a Huron County Library card does not apply. If purchasing a Museum Member ticket, please be prepared to show your membership card on entry.
