I am Huron: Exhibit Launch

Celebrate Welcoming Week and the opening of the I am Huron exhibit! The stories of I Am Huron recipients from 2025 and 2026 will be featured in the museum’s newest Community Curators exhibit. Join us for the exhibit’s official launch with short remarks and refreshments. The reception will be followed by the premiere of a new season of Multilingual Movie Nights. There is no cost to attend the reception; Multilingual Movie Nights are included with museum admission or FREE with your Huron County library card or Museum membership.

I Am Huron is a Huron County-wide initiative to showcase the diverse contributions that immigrants and newcomers to Canada make in our communities. The campaign aims to celebrate immigrants and highlight the positive impact they make in many different areas.

Welcoming Week is an annual campaign and celebration to showcase the movement of communities striving to be more welcoming places for all, including immigrants.  More than 4,000 people have celebrated in Huron County since 2021, with dozens of events organized throughout our communities. Celebrate Welcoming Week, the opening of the I am Huron exhibit and the premiere of a new season of Multilingual Movie Nights at the Huron County Museum!

Multilingual Movie Nights celebrate the many languages spoken in Huron County with a film and free refreshments!

All films to be screened in their original language(s) with English subtitles. Multilingual Movie Nights are the third Thursday of each month in the museum theatre this fall! Movies are screened with a light snack and a hot or cold drink. Please RSVP to help us know the quantities of refreshments needed! No purchase is required beforehand. Upon arrival, movie nights are included with paying regular admission to the museum, free for museum members, or free/by-donation with your Huron County Library card.  RSVPs close on the Monday prior to allow time to order snacks, but walk-ins are always still welcome as capacity allows!

Snacks served at 6:45 p.m. Movie to begin promptly at 7 p.m. Refreshments available while they last! Please note that films may not be appropriate for all audiences. A rating has been provided when possible.  Films should be assumed to be for a mature audience if not rated.
